.:.Srinagar, November 06 2012: Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control and world over are observing the Jammu Martyrs’ Day, today, to reaffirm the resolve to continue their liberation struggle till they achieve their inalienable right to self-determination. In Srinagar APHC-G were stopped by police to hold a seminar on Jammu martyrs.

Kashmiris observe Jammu Martyrs’ Day

During the first week of November in 1947, hundreds of thousands of Kashmiris, who were migrating to Pakistan, were killed by the forces of Maharaja Hari Singh, Indian army and Hindu extremists in different parts of Jammu region.

Islamabad:All Parties Hurriyat Conference-G AJK Pays tributes to Jammu Martyrs 1947, in a Seminar in Islamabad PK. The deceleration of Jammu Martyrs Seminar by APHC-G urged on the Pakistan to play its role in the resolution of Kashmir in line with the UN resolutions. It further asked the Govt of Pakistan to take note of the interior ministries remarks on Kashmir and delete the controversial lines from the ministries report submitted before the Supreme Court. The AJK leaders from the ruling and opposition parties said that their stand on Kashmir’s freedom couldn’t be changed.

Addressing on the occasion, Kashmiri leaders including Raja Farooq Haider, Sardar Anwar Khan, Sardar Khalid Ibrahim, Ghulam Muhammad Safi, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, Ghulam Nabi Nowshehri and Ishtiaq Hameed said that India’s claims of being a democratic country were hoax.

They demanded withdrawal of Indian troops, from occupied Kashmir, repeal of draconian laws and release of illegally detained Kashmiris in the territory. The speakers also condemned the occupation authorities for preventing the Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League from holding a seminar in Srinagar on the occasion of Jammu Martyrs’ Day, today.
