Srinagar, May 29: In India admin Kashmir, at least 8000 persons have been disappeared in custody in last 24 years.On the International Week of the Disappeared (27th May to 31st May 2013) according to Kashmir Media Service, the particularly youth were subjected to enforced disappearance in last 24 years for demanding their rights and their families are living in pain and grief.illustration by NYT kashmir 2010 protest,

Association of Parents of Disappeared Persons (APDP) spokesperson in Srinagar said that 500 government forces’ personnel, who include 235 Indian troops and 111 cops, were responsible for human rights violations in Jammu and Kashmir.

The APDP while observing the International Week of the Disappeared to highlight the plight of the victims’ families has been formed to trace the whereabouts of those missing persons.
