Srinagar, June 30: The Jammu and Kashmir Coalition of Civil Society (JKCCS), a local human rights group, has said that Indian police are shielding the killers of Junaid Khuroo, a 20-year-old boy, who was shot dead on June 29, 2011.
The JKCCS in a statement issued in Srinagar said that Junaid Khuroo was killed by the personnel of Indian Police led by Inspector Chulbul Pandey. He was the station house officer at Sopore police station.
The JKCCS deplored that no FIR had been registered against the police and the perpetrators continued to roam free.
Khuroo, the JKCCS said, was interrogated in custody by the said inspector just five days before his killing.
