Srinagar: Two militants were killed on Thursday during a gunfight between militants and government forces in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district, police sources said.
A civilian was also killed during clashes between protesters and forces near the encounter site at Padgampora village of Awantipora area.
The civilian, identified as Aamir Nazir Wani, (15) was killed when a bullet hit his neck, sources said.
Pertinently, soon after forces cordoned off Padgampora village following information about the presence of the militants, protesters hit the streets and pelted stones on the forces triggering clashes.
Police sources said that gunfight was over however, search operation was still underway in the area.
