Victim families ask court not to release killer Padro
Srinagar, April 04: The victim families from Kokernag area of Islamabad district have appealed the court not to grant the bail to Farooq Ahmed Padroo, former Indian army-backed killer of at least five innocent civilians in fake encounters for rewards and promotions.
Farooq Padroo is presently behind the bars. Families and neighbours of three fake encounter victims — Abdur Rehman Padder, a carpenter, Nazir Ahmed Daca, a perfumer and Ali Muhammad Padder, a cloth-seller — all residents of Kokernag assembled at Press Enclave in Srinagar and staged a protest appealing the court not to grant bail to the killer Farooq Padroo.
“The butcher, Farooq Padroo, has applied for bail through his counsel. He has requested the court to grant him bail. We request court to reject his bail plea as he is the killer of innocent people. All those who were killed by him in fake encounters too had children and families. He doesn’t deserve mercy,” the families of the victims told media.
Earlier, the accomplices of the killer Padroo used to harass the victim families. They even tried to force them to stop fighting the case in the court of law but these cheap tactics strengthened “our resolve to seek stringent punishment to the killer,” said family members of victim carpenter, Abdul Rehman.
Abdur Rehman, father of five children, was picked by Indian police on instance of Farooq Padroo and later killed in a fake encounter at Waskoora in Ganderbal.
“When court can execute Muhammad Afzal Guru without proving his role in any case, why can’t it hang these killers, whose role has been established by the Special Investigation Team constituted by the authorities themselves,” the victim families said.
