Bandipora June 16: Two civilians were injured when army opened fire on their car in Bandipora district of north Kashmir Friday.
Witnesses said that the civilians were heading towards Ahamsharief shrine for Friday prayers when they came under fire at a barricade erected by soldiers of 14 RR Unit in Chek Reshipora village of the district.

Both the injured were shifted to District Hospital Bandipora for treatment where from they were shifted to SKIMS Soura for specialised treatment.
They were identified as Muzaffar Ahmad son of Farooq Ahmad Jan and Fayaz Ahmad Haji son of Ghulam Hassan Haji, both resident of Qazipora village in Bandipora.
“Fayaz was shot in his left knee and Muzaffar was shot on his left shoulder. However, there condition was stable,” said a doctor who treated them at DH Bandipora.
Police registered a case under Section 307 RPC against army. When contacted, Srinagar based Defence Spokesman Col. Rajesh Kalia said that he is ascertaining the details about the incident.
