Srinagar, July 12: A lensman man of ‘Greater Kashmir’ was among many injured in pellets, fired by Indian troops on participants of funeral prayers of a youth martyred by Indian troops in Badgam district.
Lensman Aman Farooq was hit by pellets while covering of Sajad Ahmad Gilkar funeral in Srinagar, today.
Farooq said that he was covering the funeral of Sajad Ahmad Gilkar in Pandan Nowhatta area when pellets were fired at the mourners.
“I have been hit by pellets in the head and arms,” he said, adding that several persons were injured during the clashes.
Earlier, clashes erupted after police and paramilitary troopers fired pellets and lobbed teargas shells to prevent mourners from marching towards the Jamia Masjid.
Gilkar was martyred along with two associates in Radbugh village of Budgam district on Tuesday night.
