Srinagar: Restrictions will be imposed in areas falling under the jurisdiction of eight police stations in Downtown Srinagar to prevent proposed UN march called by the Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) tomorrow.
Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Farooq Ahmad Lone said that restrictions under section 144 Cr PC will be imposed in areas falling under the jurisdiction of Khanyar, Nowhatta, Rainawari, M R Gunj, Safakadal, Maisuma, Kralkhud and Ram Munshi Bagh police stations.
He said restrictions will be imposed as a “precautionary measure”.
JRL has called for a sit-in tomorrow outside the UN office in Sonwar to protest the civilian killings, unlawful detentions and arrests.
Meanwhile,wo youth were injured in a mysterious explosion in Bahmnoo village of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Thursday.
Reports said that a live shell went off in Bahmnoo village, resulting in injuries to two persons.
The blast took place at the site of July 3 gunfight in which three militants were killed and five houses blasted by the forces.
One of the injured was identified as Wakil Ahmad, son of Ghulam Ahmad Mir, has suffered multiple fractures and severe head injury. He was shifted to SKIMS Soura for specialised treatment, said a health official.
Another injured, identified as Umar has suffered splinter injuries in chest and abdomen.
He was shifted to SMHS hospital for specialised treatment.
