Shopian: Clashes erupted in Sugan village of Shopian in south Kashmir on Wednesday after government forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation.

Reports said that police, army and CRPF cordoned off the Sugan village following inputs about the presence of militants there.

However, people took to streets and pelted the forces with stones to disrupt the operation.
Forces responded by lobbing teargas shells, triggering intense clashes.
