Srinagar: Thousands of people on Tuesday participated in the last rites of militant killed in a gunfight with Indian forces in Tral area of Pulwama district yesterday.
Adil Rashid Chopan, who was killed in a gunfight in Seer village of Tral township, was laid to rest at the martyrs’ graveyard in Lurow where thousands of people attended his funeral prayers.
Emotional scenes were witnessed as the body of Adil (17) was marched towards the graveyard. Women were seen beating their chest while men raised pro-freedom slogans.
Adil was rescued by locals during a gunfight in which militant commander Sabzar Bhat and his associate Faizan Bhat were killed in Saimoh, Tral in May this year.
