Srinagar, December 14 (PR): Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Freedom League(JKPFL), has paid glowing tributes to famous resistance leader Abdul Khaliq Ganai alias Jamal Afghani on his 24th martyrdom anniversary, today.

Special prayers were offered for the martyred commander during a function at his native town in Bandipora district.

A prayers session led by party Chief Organizer Imtiaz Ahmad Shah was held in Srinagar. Others who participated in the session included Gulzar Ahmad Khanday, Arshad Aziz and Showkat Ahmad Dar.

On the occasion, Imtiaz Ahmed Shah and other party leaders threw light on the life and sacrifices of Jamal Afghani. He said he was active in Kashmir’s political struggle since 70s before joining armed struggle with his close associate martyred resistance leaders Nazir Ahmed Shah and Bashir Ahmed Sheikh.

Speakers on the occasion said that the Martyred leader sacrifices his whole life for the Kashmir cause and fought Indian tyranny shoulder to shoulder with senior resistance leader and Chairman JKPFL, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani.

It is worth mentioning that Jamal Afghani was martyred by Indian forces on 15th December 1993 after arresting him at Kupwara-Srinagar highway. He was chief commander of former Jihad Force now Al-Fatah Force.

The leaders demanded immediate release of JKPFL General Secretary Muhammad Ramzan Khan and other detainees. A message from party Chairman, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani was read out, on the occasion.
