Aripal (Kashmir): Thousands of people on Tuesday participated in the funeral prayers of slain Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM) commander, Noor Muhammad Tantray in Darganaie Gund village of Aripal tehsil in Pulwama district.
Funeral prayers were held for Tantray at a local ground as mourners were pouring in from various parts of the town.
All entry and exit points were sealed with barbed wires amid heavy deployment of forces across the area.
However, people defied the restrictions to reach slain militant’s native village.
Tantray was killed in a gunfight with government forces in Samboora village of Pampore township late Monday night.
Three-feet-tall Noor Mohammad Tantray AKA “Chhota Noora”, aged 47 had joined militants in 2015. According to police he was involved in major attacks on Indian forces in south Kashmir.
