Jul 30, 2010 Srinagar, Kashmir – At least three civilians were killed and 50 were injured Friday when Indian forces opened fire during protests in India-administered Kashmir. Curfew imposed in Srinagar.
Shoukat Ahmad Chopan and Mohammad Ahsan Ganai were killed and seven others injured when Indian forces opened fire on a mob at Arampora village of Sopore, 55 kms from here in Baramulla.
Srinagar also witnessed protests as demonstrators shouted anti-India slogans in at least half a dozen locations across the city.
Five people were injured in the protests, one dead says locals.
Authorities imposed a curfew in Srinagar Friday to curb the violence, as protests were reported in northern towns including Baramulla.
