Srinagar, February 28: In occupied Kashmir, family of a Kashmiri woman, Rafeeqa, resident of Ompora Budgam who was killed by the firing of Indian troops during last year’s uprising has sought justice against the murderer troopers.
Ishrat Ghani, the daughter of the deceased woman, in a media interview in Srinagar, said that the troops killed her mother without any reason and vowed to continue her struggle for justice against the murderers.
Revealing details of the incident, she said, “On the fateful day, people were demonstrating against the killings of innocent Kashmiris in the occupied territory. My mother went on the rooftop when I heard bullet shots. I ran upstairs and found my mother in a pool of blood.”
She said that her family members also reached on the spot and tried to shift her to hospital but the troops did not allow. Ishrat said that her father Abdul Ghani had been suffering from mental stress since the incident took place while her four sisters and two brothers had lost their world after their mother’s death.
