Srinagar, March 06 :After slapping draconian law, Public Safety Act (PSA) on more than 70 innocent Kashmiris, Indian police has started raiding houses in Shopian, Kulgam, Pulwama and Islamabad districts of held Kashmir to arrest 600 youth for taking part in last year’s uprising.
The police threaten the parents of the youth to get their wards to police stations. The police action has forced many a youth to flee from their homes and take shelter at the houses of relatives or friends.
In Shopian district, 15 people have been illegally arrested under the PSA while the policemen are conducting raids on the houses of 200 others. In district Pulwama, 24 persons have been unlawfully detained under the draconian law and number of youth wanted exceeds 250.
In Kulgam, police is raiding the residences of 60 people while 200 innocent Kashmiris have been detained. In Islamabad district, more than two-dozen civilians have been illegally arrested under the black law and around 300 are wanted by the police. -KMS
