Srinagar 9 March 11(KGN): The disappearance of a youth triggered off demonstrations in Ladura village of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district this morning. Eyewitnesses told Journalists that Mohammad Yasin, 28, son of Ghulam Nabi Mir of Jadeed Mohalla, Ladura in Rafiabad on Wednesday evening, last week went out of his house after receiving a call on his cell phone. Since then, his whereabouts are unknown.
The family has approached the police and filed a missing complaint. However, a week past the youth remains untraced.
Early this morning, scores of men, women and children took to streets and staged anti-government demonstrations. Chanting slogans, the protesters blocked the Baramulla-Handwara road demanding the whereabouts of the youth.
The blockade of the vital road link left hundreds of vehicles stranded from the both sides. Further details are awaited.
