Islamabad, 05 Feb, 2012: The Chairman Jammu and Kashmir People’s Freedom League Muhammad Farooq Rehmani has hailed Pakistan and the Government of the country for reassuring their historical support to the political struggle of the Kashmiris for freedom by showing solidarity with the tireless sacrifices of the people. However, the message must be louder and unequivocal; adding that the day of solidarity must be above rituals. “The world must be told that the peace in the sub-continent is impossible without peace in Kashmir that is linked with the right of self-determination of the people of Kashmir, he said.
Muhammad Farooq Rehmani urged on Pakistan to underscore the significance of Kashmir’s just solution for Pakistan and its strategic interests and again India should not ignore its gains for its own progress poverty-ridden population. He said the time was ripe to begin world-vide diplomatic campaign for the basic rights of the Kashmiris by encouraging people’s just and democratic activities around the world for the right of self-determination. He said there were many commonalities between Pakistan and this state; Kashmir–rooted deep in the history of freedom struggle since the days of Allama Iqbal-the poet philosopher who headed Kashmir committee Lahore in 1930s to project the cause of the Kashmiris.
Muhammad Farooq Rehmani called upon the Chairman of the Parliament’s Kashmir Committee Maulana Fazl-ul-Rehman to bring to light in Pakistan the Kashmir question, by chalking-out a fresh program of awareness inside and outside of the Parliament which many unfortunately did not think relevant under the pretext of the 9/11 tragedy. He said that the Government should be briefed about the discussion made in the office of the Kashmir Committee under the Chairmanship of Maulana Fazl-ul- Rehman on 04th February 2012, and more meetings should be arranged between the leadership of Kashmir Committee and the Kashmiris for achieving this arduous task of Kashmir’s freedom.
