Protests in Kashmir over youth’s killing
Srinagar, February 11 2012: complete shutdown is being observed, today, on the occasion of the martyrdom anniversary of prominent Kashmiri liberation leader, Muhammad Maqbool Butt in Kashmir Valley.
Call for the shutdown has been given by the All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front and other pro-liberation groups.
Muhammad Maqbool Butt was hanged in New Delhi’s Tihar Jail on the 11th of February in 1984 for his leading role in Kashmir liberation movement and his body was buried in the jail premises.
Meanwhile massive Protests broke out in Baramulla district of Jammu & Kashmir, after a 20-year-old youth was killed allegedly in firing by armed forces on Friday night.
