Srinagar, June 4: A delegation of Jammu Kashmir Peoples’ Freedom League leaders led by its secretary general Muhammad Rafiq Ganai met the Iranian ambassador to India Syed Mehdi Nabizadeh at a religious function held at Lawaypora on city outskirts.
Talking to Syed Mehdi, the League delegation apprised him about the prevailing situation in Kashmir.
The delegation, according to League statement, requested the ambassador to take stock of the situation prevailing in Kashmir and accordingly convey it to the government of Iran. The leaders hoped that Iran would lend its political, moral and diplomatic support to the Kashmiris’ struggle and use its influence on New Delhi for peaceful resolution of Kashmir issue.
The ambassador, according to League statement, assured the delegation that Iran would continue its efforts for peaceful resolution of the Kashmir imbroglio.-GK
