Muzaffarabad 14th January, 2013:Protest Day is being observed throughout Azad Jammu and Kashmir today to condemn the unprovoked firing of Indian forces across the Line of control.
The day was observed on the appeal of AJK Prime Minister to draw attention of the international community towards the ceasefire violations and unprovoked firing of Indian forces across the line of control.
Demonstrations and protest rallies were held at all district and Tehsil headquarters of the state to condemn the Indian aggression.
In Muzaffarabad‚ a big protest rally was held near Central Press Club. Leaders of various political parties and representatives of religious‚ social and employees organizations participated in the rally.
AJK Prime Minister Chaudhry Abdul Majeed‚ while addressing on the occasion‚ called upon the international community to take stock of serious violations of the Indian forces on Line of Control and put pressure on India to desist from such aggression‚ which is clear violation of international charter and ceasefire agreement between Pakistan and India.
He said India could not hoodwink the international community by leveling false and baseless allegation against Pakistan.
The Prime Minister paid tributes to the sacrifices of Pakistani armed forces in defending the geographical frontiers of the country and assured that the people of Kashmir would stand with them in combating the Indian aggression.
Addressing the rally former Prime Minister Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan paid tributes to the Kashmiri people for their unprecedented sacrifices and assured that people of Pakistan and Azad Kashmir would never leave them alone in their trials and tribulations.
Later the participants of the rally marched to UN Observer Mission in Muzaffarabad and handed over a protest memorandum calling upon UN Secretary General to take notice of Indian aggression on Line of Control and state terrorism in Occupied Kashmir.
Pakistan steadfast over Kashmirs principled stance: Khar
Talking to AJK Prime Minister Chaudhry Abdul Majeed here on Monday, she stressed for peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the aspirations of Kashmiri people.She also said that Pakistan had already initiated its comprehensive dialogue regarding the core issue with India, as Pakistan believed that a just and peaceful resolution of the Kashmir could guarantee regional harmony and peace.She briefed the AJK Prime Minister regarding the comprehensive peace dialogue with India, over which he expressed his complete satisfaction.Meanwhile, Chaudhry Abdul Majeed, who embarked on a 7-day tour of UK, also discussed the core issue of Kashmir, overall economic situation of Pakistan, and agenda for his UK tour.He also briefed the foreign minister regarding the development projects, and over all situation of AJK.
