Islamabad Feb 4: The Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Freedom League (JKPFL), Muhammad Farooq Rehmani has expressed the hope that February 5, 2013, as the day of Kashmir Solidarity, dedicated to Kashmir’s freedom will further assure the pledge of Pakistan to liberate Jammu and Kashmir from the clutches of India, which is occupying Jammu and Kashmir forcibly and illegally for the last 65 years without any regard for the United Nation’s charter or its resolutions on Kashmir.
Muhammad Farooq Rehmani in a statement in Islamabad said that the occupied territory was passing through trials and tribulations, because of India’s military grip over it and her inhuman and unjust laws to suppress the people’s voice for the right of self-determination. He said that the day marked unshakable resolve of Pakistan to make serious efforts towards the goal of free Kashmir as stated from time to time by the leadership of Pakistan. He pointed out that the Kashmiris suffered unimaginable miseries in the last century under despotic regimes and alien rulers, and later the destiny of Kashmiris was again marred when India annexed Kashmir and thus began a dark period of Kashmir’s history.
“However, first the Indian Muslims and in post-1947, Pakistan struggled side by side with the Kashmiris for their right of self-determination. It is heartening that both Dr Iqbal, the poet philosopher of East, and later Quad-i-Azam, the founder of Pakistan, championed the cause of freedom for the Kashmiris. It’s in this background that Pakistan is continuously advocating the Kashmir cause on every world forum and reaffirming its firm belief in the struggle of freedom for the people of Kashmir. The Kashmiris hope that these sacrifices by Pakistanis and the Kashmiris will ultimately pave way for the just resolution of the Kashmir dispute,” he added.
