Islamabad, February 15 : The Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Freedom League (JKPFL), Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, has paid rich tributes to martyred Ghulam Muhammad Bulla on his 38th anniversary.Muhammad Farooq Rehmani in a statement issued in Islamabad said that Ghulam Muhammad Bulla was a brave and bold Kashmiri youth and Indian police had martyred him on February 15, 1975, by severely torturing him at an interrogation centre for raising his voice against Indra-Abdullah Accord.
He said that India was trying to suppress the Kashmir liberation movement through use of brute force. He added that in 1984 liberation leader, Muhammad Maqbool Butt had been executed in New Delhi’s Tihar Jail and now another Kashmiri youth, Muhammad Afzal Guru, was hanged in the same jail.
Farooq Rehmani warned that use of brute force in occupied Kashmir by India was a threat to permanent peace in the region. He also condemned the continued implementation of curfew in the occupied territory due to which people were facing hardships.
He appealed to the UN Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon to take notice of Indian state terrorism in occupied Kashmir and put pressure on New Delhi to settle the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the UN resolutions and aspirations of Kashmiri people.
