[Kashmir’s new Generation has got the vital message after the hanging of Afzal Guru]
Srinagar Feb.20:Senior journalist Iftikhar Geelani has said that the new generation of kashmiris have got the vital message after the hanging of Afzal Guru at Tihar jail and its repercussions would be serious in the near future . In an interview, Iftikhar said that Afzal’s hanging has left the cavernous mark in Kashmir and it can’t be erased easily. ”In 1984 Maqbool Bhat was hanged and its impact is still alive in Kashmir ” Iftikhar said adding that the serious impact of Afzal’s hanging cannot be undermined from the minds of Kashmir’s new Generation .
He further mentioned that if Delhi wants better situation in valley, it has to prepare a long term strategy. ”Kashmir can be controlled, everyone has to earn for his family but at the same time Delhi has to offer some package that could be acceptable to the people of kashmir.” He further said that no political party in Kashmir can claim that it has full control over its people; kashmiris don’t have trust in any political party now. He said that there is no leader in India who has ever tried to soothe the blighted hearts of kashmiris. “Once Nehru sent Lal Bahadur Shastri to Kashmir but no one can claim that he has gained the trust of kashmiri people”.
The doors of dialogue could be reopened but on the condition when India has something called Kashmir centric.
