Islamabad, February 20, 2013: Muhammad Farooq Rehmani Chairman, Jammu and Kashmir People’s Freedom League, has expressed profound grief over the demise of Ahmadullah Affandi – legendary Scoutmaster of Kashmir, at his home Wongam Bandipora.
Paying tributes to his services in the field of education and scout, he said that Affandi Sahib was a capable and hardworking teacher, lived simple life, and honestly served physical education of children and youths of Kashmir.
Muhammad Farooq Rehmani said, he had gained respect and country- wide fame, as a Scoutmaster of Jammu and Kashmir in 1950s-1970s.
He was a professional teacher and as Scoutmaster won Presidential Award, after leading several scout delegations in nation-wide competitions, and abroad to the Kingdom of Saudi- Arabia in 1967. He had worked as a schoolteacher in Astore Gilgit Jammu and Kashmir state in 1940s.
As a sportsman; he had led a Kashmiri football team to play in Lahore before 1947. Kashmiris are proud of his services; they respected him for his humbleness, and spirit of helping everybody, every time.
Muhammad Farooq Rehmani and his family expressed condolences with the bereaved family on telephone, and said, “he would live always in our memory, and his family will bear the loss with patience and fortitude. May Allah shower His blessings on the departed soul in the life ‘Here-After,’ Ameen!”
