Srinagar Jun 21: Mirwaiz South Kashmir Qazir Yasir suffered a ‘heart attack’ while in police custody on Friday, sources and his aides told reporters.
Sources said, Qazi who was under detention from last fifteen days in Saddar police station in south Kashmir’s Islamabad, suffered a massive heart attack and was shifted to SMHS hospital in Srinagar.
Doctors at the hospital said his condition is serious.
There was conformation from the police, however, his aides confirmed the incident. Sources said Qazi developed pain in his chest in the morning and was shifted to a local hospital. “But the doctors said that his condition was serious and he needed to be shifted to Srinagar,” one of his aide told reporters.
Witnesses said that soon after the reports came youth took to streets which led to clashes. Protests and clashes were going on when the report was being filed.
