Srinagar Jun 30: A policeman and witnesses says the Indian army has killed two people and wounded another in the Indian portion of Kashmir, leading to huge anti-India protests.
According to Associated Press Police official Abdul Ghani Mir says soldiers surrounded a few houses in the village of Markondal before dawn Sunday when they observed a suspicious movement and fired, killing a teenage boy.
As angry, stone-throwing protesters surrounded a stalled army vehicle, the soldiers fired again, killing a man and wounding a third.
Mir said police were investigating the deaths. The army has refused to comment.
Hundreds of villagers have gathered to protest the killings.
Anti-India feelings run deep in Indian Kashmir where nearly a dozen rebel groups have been fighting against Indian rule since 1989.
Meanwhile APHC-G Syed Ali Geelani called for shutdown on tomorrow to protest against killing of civilians.
