Srinagar, July 01: The strike called by Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani against the killing of two youth in Bandipora district paralysed life in Valley on Monday. On the other hand clashes amid protests broke out on second consecutive day today in north Kashmir’s Bandipora town following the killing of two youth by army on Saturday night.
People from adjoining areas of Hajin including Shahgund, Manwan, Waripora and other areas are marching in procession shouting Anti India, Anti army and pro freedom slogans.
Complete shutdown is observed in entire north Kashmir, public transport is off the roads in Bandipora, Baramulla, Sopore, Handwara and Kupwara.
Meanwhile An encounter has started between suspected militants and Indian forces in Madora Tral area of Pulwama district.
Sources say that forces cordoned off Madora Tral area after reports of presence of militants.
One militant and one cop of Police’s counter-insurgency wing-SOG-killed so far and a CRPF personnel got injured.
The slain militant has been identified as Shanawaz
