Islamabad, September 23 (KMS): The Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Freedom League (JKPFL), Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, has denounced the arrest of party leaders and activists and harassment of their family members by Indian police across Indian-administrated Kashmir.
Muhammad Farooq Rehmani in a statement issued in Islamabad said that the police personnel had arrested several party leaders and activists during raids in the past week due to personnel vendetta.
The statement said that around ten party office-bearers and workers had been arrested from Shopian, Pulwama, Baramulla and Bandipora areas and their family members were subjected to torture by the police. It maintained that India would not succeed to suppress the ongoing liberation movement through such repressive measures.
The JKPFL demanded immediate release of all illegally detained party leaders and activists.
