NEW YORK Sept 29: A one-on-one meeting between Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his Indian counterpart Manmohan Singh has begun in New York.
Both the leaders are holding this meeting, which is said to set the tone for the subsequent talks between the two neighbours, on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly.
India has refused to hold a joint press conference or the issuance of a joint communiqué after the talks, sources said.
Following Nawaz-Manmohan meeting, talks would be held at the delegation level also. Pakistan delegation comprises of Sartaj Aziz, Khawaja Asif, Ishaq Dar, Tariq Fatemi, Masood Khan and Jalil Abbas Jilani.
The host Manmohan Singh has arranged a buffet breakfast for Nawaz Sharif, where Pakistani and Indian dishes would be served.
India and Pakistan have fought two of their three wars since independence in 1947 over Muslim-majority Kashmir, which they both claim in full but rule in part.
