Islamabad, November 05: Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Peoples’ Freedom League, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani while paying glowing tributes to the martyrs of 06 November, 1947 Jammu bloody massacre, has said that thousands of innocent Muslim citizens were brutally slaughtered and their women were abducted by Hindu terrorists and troops of the Dogra Maharaja under an unholy design to thwart the majority population’s right to accede to Pakistan according to the partition decision.
He said that the carnage of Muslims in Jammu in October-November 1947, was the most savage way of human rights violations, perpetuated after the occupation of Srinagar by Indian troops, under the pretext of normalizing law and order situation of the State, which had been shaken due to the Red Cliff Award- conspiracy between Mount Batten and Nehru in Delhi. The award had made Lord Mount Batten’s position as viceroy of India very suspicious in the eyes of Muslims.
Muhammad Farooq Rehmani said ‘the sacrifices of the Muslims of Jammu are historically and morally unforgettable and the present generation of the Kashmiris will translate the dream of martyred Muslims into reality, never to compromise the basic right– the right of self-determination for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.” He said notwithstanding the conspiracy to change the demography of Jammu in 1947 by carnage and exodus of Muslims, the dispute of Kashmir is still a burning topic and can’t be brushed aside by India. He said terrorism unleashed by Indian troops, Maharaja’s state troops and Hindu terrorist organizations in 1947, continues today and is a big hurdle in the way of peacefully resolving the Kashmir dispute. Therefore it’s obligatory on the United Nations to facilitate all the three parties of the dispute to settle the problem peacefully according to the charter and the relevant resolutions of the United Nations to save the region from any other human catastrophe.
