Srinagar, Nov 16: An organisation of journalists in North Kashmir Sunday condemned the army action after troopers allegedly snatched cameras of two photo journalists and deleted their photographs
Army troopers snatched cameras and deleted pictures taken Abid Nabi of Excelsior and Firdous Khan of The Kashmir Times when they were covering a militant attack on a convoy in Darugmulla area of frontier Kupwor district. “An Army major abused us and snatched our camera when he saw us taking pictures. We told him that we are performing our professional duty but he didn’t listen and deleted the pictures by formatting camera memory cards,” the photojournalist said.
They added that army troopers blamed them for the trouble in the area.
North Kashmir Journalist Association condemned army’s highhandedness and demanded probe into the incident.
