Srinagar, December 17: In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League (JKML) has expressed serious concern over the continued illegal detention of its Vice Chairman, Masarrat Aalam Butt, and denial of medical facilities to him by the jail authorities.JKML in a statement issued in Srinagar said that Masarrat Aalam Butt was being subjected to political vendetta for spearheading the 2010 uprising. He said that the authorities were using different tactics to prolong his illegal detention.
The party said that the urgency for resolving the Kashmir dispute was increasingly felt at the global level and welcomed the concern expressed by the international human rights organizations over rights abuses in the territory.
The Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Freedom League at a meeting chaired by its General Secretary, Ghulam Ahmad Parray, paid glowing tributes to Jamal Afghani on his martyrdom anniversary.
The JKPFL spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar reiterated to continue the martyrs’ mission till its accomplishment.
