The daily quoting sources reported that the puppet authorities had positively considered the proposal of land acquisition by the CRPF, however, due to forthcoming Indian parliamentary and so-called Kashmir Assembly elections they had delayed the process although most of formalities had been completed.
The CRPF, according to the newspaper, has identified land at Singhpora in Baramulla district for setting up a battalion headquarters. Besides, the paramilitary force has also identified land at another place in Baramulla district.
A CRPF official told the daily that the legal formalities had been completed and they had only to deposit the money to acquire the required land.
The newspaper pointed out that the CRPF had demanded the land after the occupation authorities repeatedly requested the Indian government not to withdraw the paramilitary force from the territory.
It is to mention here that four major bases of CRPF are coming up in the Valley at a time when the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, has been stressing for reducing the foot prints of men in uniform in the territory.
