“Deceased not a foreigner but a local: People”
Srinagar, Dec 26: Gunfight between a militant and the Indian forces in Chadoora area of central Kashmir which lasted for twelve hours, ended on the killing of a militant and the devastation of a residential house, Thursday afternoon.
Police added that a joint team of 53 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and Special Operation Group (SOG) Chadoora killed one militant in a gun battle which started Wednesday evening.
Media Sources said that when today morning firing stopped from the militant side, after the residential house in which he was hiding was razed to ground, forces recovered one body from the debris.
One AK-47 assault rifle was recovered from the encounter site, police said.
Police claimed that the militant was foreigner, but locals rebuffed the police claim.

The people of Kakapora claimed that the deceased was not ‘a foreign militant’ as claimed by police but a resident of the town and identified him as Showkat Ahmad lone son of Muhammad Shaban Lone.
Earlier, in the day police claimed that Army and SOG personnel killed a foreign militant in Hushroo during a gunfight which lasted for twelve hours.
The people from Kakepora, Thursday afternoon came on roads and claimed that the deceased was not a ‘foreign militant’ but a resident of village Lalehaar, near Kakapora.
The people even travelled to Chadoora to claim the body.
