Srinagar, Jan 14 : Complete shut was observed in Sopore, today, against the killing of three Kashmiri youth by Indian troops during the continued siege and search operation in Duroo area of Baramulla district.
All shops and commercial establishments in the area remained closed while public transport was off the roads.
The police claimed that three Mujahids including a commander were killed in an encounter with Indian troops in Sopore tehsil, yesterday.
Two troops were also injured in the attack in the area.
The Special Operation Group (SOG) and 22 Rashtriya Rifles of Indian army cordoned off the area.
According to the initial report, two troops of 22 RR identified as S Kapoor and Ajit Pradhan were injured.
Reports said the operation was continuing till last reports came in.
The operation was extended to nearby villages of Marbel, Hard Shiva, Yemberzal, Rishipora, Rampur and Rajpur areas.
Army used helicopters during the searches.
Addressing a press conference in Sopore, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) claimed that the martyred youth had been identified as Abu Hassan, Muzamil alias Farooq and Rizwan.
