Islamabad: The Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Peoples’ Freedom League, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani has termed the sad demise of Dr. Majid Nizami, Editor-in-Chief of Nawaiwaqt/Nation publications group, a great national loss. In his glowing tribute to the life and works of Dr. Majid Nizami, he said that his great contribution as a brave and an honest journalist, his zeal and zest as a patriot and his support and advocacy of the Kashmir freedom movement could never be forgotten.
He said, “He made an indelible impression on the basis of his commitment on the concept of democracy/Islamic thought in Pakistan, unity and solidarity of the Muslim Ummah and freedom of Kashmir and Palestine from subjugation and suppression.
He never compromised his unshakable stand on the Kashmir’s right of self-determination and forbade others from accepting petty formulas or gains. Nizami sahib firmly believed in the parliamentary democracy as the only road to progress, prosperity, stability and security of Pakistan. The media would have to follow his foot-prints in the times ahead. We hope the Nawaiwaqt/Nation would hold and keep Nizami’s flame of independent and responsible journalism burning in every situation. May Allah be happy with the departed soul in the life here after. Ameen
