Islamabad: The Chairman Jammu and Kashmir People’s Freedom League (JKPFL), Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, has strongly condemned India for having arrested thousands of the Kashmiri freedom supporters to hold phase wise sham polls in the State.
The arrested leaders and their supporters comprising forty members, include General Secretary of the People’s Freedom League, Haji Ghulam Ahmad Parray, while its Chief Organizer, Muhammad Altaf Khan has been languishing in a prison under the so called J&K Public Safety Act (PSA) for the last 6 months.
He asked Indian leaders if the people were with India, then why they had been put behind bar during the polling month. The fact is that India was ruling the State with the power of gun for the last 67 years, avoiding the UN ordained plebiscite to continue her forcible occupation of the disputed region. He rejected Indian Minister Jaitlay’s claim that Kashmir was an integral part of India and the status quo couldn’t be changed.
Muhammad Farooq Rehmani said that the Kashmiris couldn’t be satisfied without granting them the right to self-determination through a UN sponsored plebiscite—only peaceful method to ascertain the wishes and aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He emphasized on the need to dialogue under the auspices of t
