Srinagar: Thousands of people took part in the funeral prayers of Manzoor Ahmad, a militant, who died in a gunbattle with Indian forces in wee hours today.
Manzoor Ahmad died in a gunbattle with forces along with another militant in Gusoo village of Pulwama.
Emotional scenes were reported from the area as the funeral procession headed to the graveyard where Ahmad was buried.
High-pitched anti-Inda pro-Pakistan Pro-Azadi slogans were raised and Pakistani flags were hoisted, on the occasion.
Indian police used brute force and fired bullets and teargas shells on anti-India protesters in the same area.
A large number of people from all walks of life participated in the funeral prayers of the youth, held at Alochibag in Samboora.
