Srinagar: The All Parties Hurriyet Conference (G) General Secretary, Shabbir Ahmad Shah has condemned the arrest of Kashmiri intellectual, Professor Syed Abdur Rehman Gilani and police crackdown against Kashmiri students in Indian states describing the actions by Indian authorities as the worst type of state terrorism.
Shabbir Ahmad Shah addressing a press conference in Srinagar, today called for protest sit-ins at all district headquarters in the occupied territory on Friday after Juma prayers and total shutdown on Saturday. Shabbir Ahmad Shah also denounced the life threat given to Syed Ali Gilani by an underground don Ravi Pujari. He said that India was Brahman imperialist country and any harm to Syed Ali Gilani would create a dangerous situation in the occupied territory. The APHC (G) General Secretary expressing satisfaction maintained that students in Indian universities were realizing truth about the Kashmir dispute that was a healthy sign.
The Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik has also called for shutdown on Saturday against the arrest of SAR Gilani.
On the other hand, the All Parties Hurriyet Conference M has expressed solidarity with the victims of the Kunan-Poshpora mass rape incident. Indian troops had gang-raped around 100 women in the intervening night of February 22 and 23 in 1991 in Kunan-poshpora village of Kupwara district.
