Srinagar July 30: An employee of Soura Institute of Medical Sciences was beaten by Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel in Soura while he was on way to hospital to attend his duties.
Abdul Aziz Shah, a male nurse discharging his duties at Soura hospital, was beaten to pulp by some CRPF personnel near 90 Feet Soura.
The CRPF men thrashed him when he was on his way to the hospital to attend his duty.
“I had the afternoon shift. As I reached near 90 Feet road, CRPF personnel stopped me. I told them that I work in hospital and also displayed my identity card before them but they started abusing me and later thrashed me,” Abdul Aziz Shah said, adding that he somehow managed to escape from their clutches.
The employees union of the hospital strongly condemned the incident.
Meanwhile, President of Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK), Dr Nisar ul Hassan, in a statement in Srinagar condemning the repeated attacks on medical staff by Indian forces said that such acts of savagery were unacceptable. He expressed outrage over increasing attacks on hospital staff and said that stopping medical personnel from attending sick and wounded was intolerable.
