Islamabad, January 24: Senior resistance leader and Chairman Jammu and Kashmir People’s Freedom League, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, has strongly denounced Indian Government for the judicial-murder policy under which a forcibly disappeared Kashmiri youth Muzaffar Ahmad Rather of Kulgam was awarded death sentence by a West Bengal court on Saturday after flouting all accepted legal and judicial norms and procedures. Muzaffar Rather, he said, was not handed over a charge-sheet and had no defense lawyer to prevent the judge from pronouncing the death sentence.
Muhammad Farooq Rehmani said Indian rulers had nefarious designs to blind or hang kashmiri youth one after another to crush the freedom movement of Jammu and Kashmir. He appealed to impartial jurists, defense counsels, human rights organizations and the United Nations to invoke relevant clauses of law and international humanitarian laws to prevent India, taking Kashmiris to gallows for being kashmiri Muslims. He added that since the Modi regime was hell-bent on executing Kashmiris by hook or by crook to harass others in the disputed region, therefore, it was apprehended that the said judgment would be carried out gravely and rapidly He added there were many innocent Kashmiris languishing in various Indian prisons for the last at least 20 years for their uncommitted crimes. Indian policy was to keep them imprisoned till their death. He added the latest Bengali court judgment against a kashmiri had spread shock and anger waves across Jammu and Kashmir; the Kashmiris living in other parts of the world were equally concerned and the Indian court judgment had intrinsic nastiness and sparks in- to destabilize the region.
Muhammad Farooq Rehmani termed the claim of Indian Republic Day celebrations in kashmir as fantastic and ridiculous as ever and said 26 Jan is a for all purposes a black Day in J&K, and the people have never accepted the Indian constitution, nor they will ever recognize it. Mufti-BJP regime has no locus-standi before the people of Jammu and Kashmir; Kashmir will continue to fight for freedom and the right of self-determination according to the UN charter and its Security Council resolutions on referendum, “he concluded.
