Srinagar, April 16: A spontaneous shutdown is being observed in Kangan area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district over the killing of a local, who succumbed to his injuries on Sunday at SKIMS Soura hospital.
Aamir Lone who hails from Chattergul Kangan village was injured on April 3 in clashes with government forces following the killing of a youth in police action.
A pall of gloom descended on Lone’s village soon after his body reached his native place. Shoppers downed their shutters, while transport came to a halt.
People in hordes were present at Lone’s native place who raised pro freedom slogans.
Meanwhile, authorities apprehending protests have made huge deployment of government forces in the area.
